Try Yoga Sculpt for £8

Everyone knows they should do some strength work. Fewer of us actually do it. The gym feels like a lot, the weights section feels like someone else’s club, and the free trial at your local leisure centre is still sitting in your inbox from January.

So here’s a simpler starting point. You can try a Yoga Sculpt class at Love Yoga Leeds for just £8. One class, 45 minutes, no commitment. Whether you’re brand new to the studio or you’ve been coming to Vinyasa for years and keep meaning to give Sculpt a go, this one’s for you.

What is Yoga Sculpt?

A Yoga Sculpt class doing bridge with weights at Love Yoga Leeds

Yoga Sculpt is a 45-minute class that mixes flowing yoga with strength work, using light hand weights. You’ll still move with your breath and stretch out tight hips and shoulders. You’ll also squat, lunge, press and hold, and you’ll feel it the next day in the good way.

The idea is simple. Most yoga builds flexibility and some strength. Sculpt builds proper strength on purpose, by repeating movements and adding a bit of load. That’s what keeps muscles, joints and bones in good shape as we get older, and it makes your regular yoga practice feel steadier too.

It’s not a bootcamp. Nobody’s shouting at you. It’s still a Love Yoga class, just with a bit more sweat.

Who’s it for?

Standing balance with a weight in Yoga Sculpt

Pretty much anyone who wants to get stronger without signing up to a gym. In particular:

  • Regular yogis who love their flow classes but know they’re light on strength work.
  • Runners, cyclists and gym-goers who want strength and mobility in one session, not two.
  • Anyone short on time. It’s 45 minutes, so it fits round a working day.
  • Beginners. You don’t need to have done yoga or lifted weights before. Your teacher will show you options to make every move easier or harder.

If you’re already a Love Yoga regular and Sculpt has been on your “one day” list, £8 is your nudge.

What to expect in your first class

Plank on weights in a Yoga Sculpt class
  • A warm-up to get you moving, then rounds of strength-based flows with light weights.
  • Short holds and repetitions that build heat. You choose the weight, and you can always put it down.
  • A proper cool-down and stretch at the end, so you leave feeling looser, not wrecked.

Bring water, wear something you can move and sweat in, and arrive 10 minutes early if it’s your first time at the studio. We’re in a beautiful old chapel at 378 Meanwood Road, LS7 2JF. Mats and weights are here for you.
