Emily teaches Soothing Soundbaths

Anja’s journey into yoga began in 2018, during a stressful chapter of life –  juggling work, study and constant mental overload. What started as a way to exercise through burnout and low energy quickly became something much deeper – realising that hour on the mat was the only time her thoughts actually slowed down.

That sense of calm sparked the beginning of a journey, and yoga has since become a lifelong practice rooted in nervous system care, emotional resilience, and everyday rituals of rest.

In 2022, Anja discovered Pilates while looking for support with ongoing pain, and was drawn to its low-impact yet highly effective approach. It gave her the perfect balance of feeling supported whilst still working hard, helping her build strength, improve body awareness, and support everything from yoga to running and weight training. Pilates is now a staple in her weekly routine, helping her feel her best in both body and mind.

Now, Anja supports busy people to feel calmer, stronger, and more connected through accessible yoga, pilates, and holistic wellness.

Her approach is about meeting you where you are, creating space to reset, and guiding you back to your centre.

Her classes are calm, welcoming, and beginner-friendly, while still offering a strong, feel-good challenge so you can leave feeling grounded, capable, and at home in your body.

Is there a quote, mantra, or philosophy that guides your teaching - or your life?

I always come back to the mantra ‘So Hum’. It means ‘I am that’, a reminder that we’re connected to something much bigger than ourselves.

  • What inspired you to become a yoga teacher?I went to my first guided meditation when I was about eighteen, and it gave me my first real sense of stillness. Since then I’ve explored many forms of practice, from Vipassana to complete darkness retreats, and my daily grounding now lies in non-dual tantric yoga. When I discovered sound baths, it opened up a new way into that quiet. There weren’t many being offered in Leeds at the time, so I trained so I could bring the experience to others.
  • How would you describe your teaching style and the kind of space you hold?

Life is busy, and I’m always grateful when someone chooses to spend an evening resting with me. I like to imagine I’m hosting a gentle slumber party and offering lullabies for rest. My intention is simply to create a soft, spacious environment where people can exhale and unwind.

  • How do you want people to feel when they leave your class? I want people to take whatever they need. For many, it’s a pause. A sacred pause; and that alone can be deeply supportive

  • What can someone expect if they’re coming to your class for the first time?

I encourage openness and curiosity. Every session is a little different; we each arrive with our own energy, and the seasons and the moon play their part too. Sound baths are highly individual. Some people see colours or shapes behind their eyes, some feel warmth, drifting, tingling, or emotional release. Others simply find a rare quietness in the mind and softness in the body.

  • Is there a quote, mantra, or philosophy that guides your teaching – or your life?

“In a world that never stops, choosing rest becomes revolutionary.”

  • What do you do for fun outside of teaching?

Outside of teaching, I’m usually diving into something that fascinates me – deepening my tantric and somatic studies, exploring movement and mobility, or getting lost in a good book. I love slow walks in nature, wandering through parks, discovering new cafes, and experimenting in my kitchen. Food, movement, and creativity are a big part of my joy.
